Zuchobeni crowned Miss Dimapur

 Zuchobeni Tungoe was crowned Miss Dimapur 2019 while Lovi Awomi and Nem Rose Merry were adjudged as first and second runners-up at the Miss Dimapur 2019 contest finale held at Don Bosco Institute for Development & Leadership, Riverbelt Colony on September 7 sponsored by Election Department Nagaland.

The occasion was graced by DC&DEO Dimapur, Kevekha Kevin Zehol, as special guest. Addressing the gathering, the special guest reminded that anybody can make changes in the society; however, the more important thing is what type of changes the person is dedicated to. DC said that the Election department has been sponsoring such event to show appreciation and encourage young people to be responsible citizens and informed that reigning Miss would also continue to be the ambassador of election department in the district.

Principal Hope Academy, Sashila Ozukum, who attended as special invitee in her speech remarked that to win the crown and just being beautiful is not enough. She encouraged the participants to have the courage to stand up for themselves and for what they believe and also urged them to remember that nothing is more rare and beautiful than a woman being unapologetically herself and comfortable in her perfect imperfections.

The subtitles for Miss Photogenic & Style Icon was also won by Zuchobeni Tungoe, Miss perfect 10 & Miss Catwalk by Lovi Awomi, Miss Talented by Roslyn M Yanthan, Miss Congeniality by Nem Rose Merry, Icon Fresh Face by Lucy Gangte, Miss Beautiful Hair by Prima Chettri and Best Ethnic Wear by Anenla Jamir.

Miss Dimapur 2019 received a total of Rs. 1,05,900/- worth in cash and kind. The first and second runners up received cash and kind amounting to Rs. 40,000/- and all semi finalist were also awarded gift hampers.

Judges for the event included principal correspondent Nagaland Today, Imna Longchar,  professionally trained cosmetician and social worker, Katrin Kinimi, lawyer and a social entrepreneur, Loreni Sophia and HoD, department of English Tetso College, Anjan Behera.
