‘Each one, protect one’: PM launches four-day ‘Tika Utsav’

 Spl.Announcing the four-day countrywide ‘Tika Utsav’ (vaccination festival) amidst rise in COVID-19 cases in India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said that this will mark the beginning of second big war against Corona.

Modi also made several suggestions to people on tackling the virus and urged them to focus on personal and social hygiene.

The Utsav launched on April 12, the birth anniversary of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule, will continue till the birth anniversary of Babasaheb Ambedkar on April 14.

In his message, Modi stressed urged the people to keep four points in mind-- ‘each one-vaccinate one’,  ‘each one-treat one’ and ‘each one- save one’ while also calling upon the society and people to lead in creating “micro containment zones”. 

He said that family members and community members should create “micro containment zone”, in case of even a single positive case, adding that this was a key component of fight against Covid in a densely populated country like India.

While emphasizing on the need for testing and awareness, Modi asked that every eligible person should get vaccinated. This should be the primary effort of both the society and the administration, he said.

“We have to move towards zero vaccine wastage. Optimum utilization of vaccination capacity is a way of increasing our capacity,” Modi said. 

In these four days of the vaccination drive, Modi asked all to set targets at personal, societal and administration level.
