‘Poshan Pakhwada 2021’ culminates in four districts

Nagaland along with the rest of the nation celebrated “Poshan Pakhwada 2021” from March 16-31 by organising various activities and community-based events highlighting nutritional challenges through food forestry and organising poshan panchayats.

Mon: Social welfare department Mon in collaboration with convergent departments conducted the Poshan Pakhwada closing programme on March 31 at DRDA conference hall, Mon. 

According to DIPR report, while exhorting the programme, DC Mon Thavaseelan K and project director, DRDA Mon, Temjen Longchar emphasised on the importance of all the activities and encouraged the anganwadi workers and helpers to keep up with the good work in the coming days.

DPO Mon, Tauhong Ngonyen thanked the convergent departments, anganwadi workers and helpers, Poshan coordinators and supervisors for their initiatives and hard work. 

Earlier, report on the activities of Poshan Pakhwada 2021 was highlighted by district coordinator Poshan, Nokyam. 

The programme was chaired by CDPO Mon block, Renchano Odyuo and invocation prayer was pronounced by Mon district chaplain, Takyong.

Wokha: A “Poshan Mela” was organised on March 31 at Chukitong under Wokha district in collaboration with health and family welfare, NRLM and district administration. 

A press release by CDPO Chukitong informed that CDPO of Chukitong block, Chichanbeni Patton together with the local leaders of Chukitong launched the two-week long Poshan Pakhwada programme. Anemia camp for adolescent girls was held at Nyiro PHC with MO Dr. Wonchibeni Murry and CDPO, Chukitong as resource persons.

The release informed that cooking show-local recipe contest was observed at the community hall Chukitong with BPM NRLM, Janthungbemo Ezung and education teacher, Yingkai T Konyak as judges.

Delivering the keynote address, senior supervisor ICDS, Zubemo Jami encouraged and lauded the anganwadi workers and helpers for their determination.

Longleng: A closing ceremony of 4th Poshan Pakhwada was organised by social welfare department in association with Poshan Abhiyan officials on March 31 at ERBC Hall, Tamlu Town with SDO (civil) Longleng, Trongdiba Tongpi as special guest.

Tuensang: Poshak Pakhwada 2021 culminated at Tuensang, SIRD Hall with EAC Tuensang, Toking Yimchunger as special guest.
