4 puppy jackals rescued from Doyang
Rescued Jackals seen handed over to Forest department officials at Sungro Government High School by the rescuers on April 12.

Four puppy Jackalswere rescued at Doyang damn area (Tzuza River) and have been handed over to forest department officials on April 12 by the rescuers.

The rescuers were all from Pangti village namely former VDB Secretary, Zanbemo Kithan, former Village Council Chairman, Jenithung Shitiri, CEM Kyong Graduate Teacher GHS Sungro and graduate teacher GHS Sungro, Tumbemo W Kikon.
In the last week of March, the rescuers found the puppy jackals abandoned by the mother in an old burrow of a porcupine. The rescuers informed that it was the right intervention as the mother has abandoned the puppies which could be due to some animal attack that the mother Jackal didn’t show up.
For more than two weeks the rescuers had taken proper care of the puppies as they were too young. 
Puppy jackals were handed over to forest department officials in a short interaction with Sungro GHS class 8 and 9 students where they were sensitized about the importance of saving wildlife and forest for ecological coexistence by CEM Kyong graduate teacher GHS Sungro where Wildlife officialswere present.
The forest department informed that the rescued jackals were three female and one male and it will be taken care of at Nagaland Zoological Park, Dimapur.
