7th CYAA football trophy underway

In honour of its first educationist Lt Horise, the seventh edition of Chimonger Yangdong Akhuru Amulong (CYAA) commenced on Tuesday at Chimonger playground.

Speaking at the programme as chief guest, Sangram Students Union Dimapur (SSUD) executive chairman Z Lanu encouraged the gathering to inculcate discipline saying it is the first and foremost thing in life. Citing the importance of the five fingers in a hand, he said we need to be united, grip together as one in-order to carry out whatever possible work. 

He also encouraged the players to be discipline, infuse mutual co-operation, unity and compliance of rules as those are some of the characteristics which form the total character of the youth. Short speech was also delivered by CYAA executive member LD Thsatsa. Highlights of the event included flag hosting and oath taking ceremony. In the first match, Friends outclassed Unity FC 2-1. Altogether, seven teams will compete for the trophy which will continue till January 2.

The programme was chaired by CYAA general secretary Lirikhum, invocation prayer was pronounced by CBL deacon Lordson and special number was presented by Lanutemsu J Khel.
