8th North East Zone Shooting Championship 2021 concludes

The 8th North East Zone Shooting Championship 2021 which was held from March from 4 at the 4th Assam Police Battalion, Kahilibara, Guwahati concluded on March 8 with the defending champion Assam retaining their title defeating the Services with 63 medals including 25 gold, 16 silver and 22 bronze. Nine shooters represented Nagaland where LipuChishi of Holy Cross School, Dimapur bagged Silver in in 10 Meter Air Rifle sub youth women individual; Imnanungsang of Ladybird School, Mokokchung bagged Bronze in 10 Meter Air Pistol sub youth men individual and Krishna Wangsu of Aries Rifle & Pistol Shooting Academy qualified for the 64th National Shooting Championships Competition 2021 to be held from April 11 at Bhopal with a score of 383/400. Altogether, 164 shooters from Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Services participated in the championship in 45 events including Trap Shooting for the first time in the North East Zone Shooting Championship. The 9th North East Zone Shooting Championship is scheduled during August/September in Manipur/Nagaland, this was stated in a press release issued by Nagaland Rifle Association president, Merang Jamir.
