A&K Cricket Fraternity, United Brothers win

The third day of the 29th MDCA Inter Club Cricket Tournament played at Imkongmeren Sports complex witnessed two matches, A&K Cricket Fraternity took on Mokokchung Guardians and Musketeers CC clashed with United Brothers CC. 

In the first match, having won the toss and electing to bat first, Longmiasang managed to pile 160 runs losing 5 wickets in 20 overs. Mokokchung Guardians could have easily restricted their opponent for lesser runs but for their sloppy fielding and dropped caused them to concede 23 runs in extras. 

Menchet top scored with 40 runs in 37 balls and Talikaba contributing 35 runs for A&K. For Mokokchung Guardians, Mandal picked 2/ 28 in 4overs and Moatemshi took 2/30 in 4 overs. Chasing the target, Mokokchung Guardians fell short of the target by 11 runs in their allotted 20 overs losing 7 wickets in the process.

Rupak top scored with 46 runs while Talinungsangscored 28 runs. Hero of the last match for Mokokchung Guardians, Mandal threatened to repeat his heroics but fell to the pressure of the high required run rate. Newham was the most successful bowler and ended with a figure of 3/45 runs in 4 overs while mtichiba chipped in with 2 wickets.

In the second match, United Brothers CC beat Musketeers CC by 10 wickets. Batting first, Musketeers CC managed to put just 37 runs on the score board losing all 10 wickets in 11.3 overs. Ushiba top scored with 9runs. 

Imtitongzuk and Tajen ended with a figure of3/8 (3 overs) and 2/7 (2 overs) respectively for United Brothers CC.  

Chasing the target, United Brothers CC batsman got off to a flying start and won the match convincingly. Shamphri of United Brothers scored 37 runs out of the 38 required and 1 run came in the form of extra.
