Activities conducted under BBBP in Mokokchung, Wokha

District administration and District Level Centre for Women-Mahila Shakti Kendra (DLCW-MSK) under the banner of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) conducted various activities in Mokokchung and Wokha.  

Mokokchung: In Mokokchung several activities on account of 16 days of activism against gender based violence on the theme “orange the world: fund, respond, prevent, collect” was conducted from November 25 to December 10.

A press release by women welfare officer, district administration, Moamenla Longkumer stated that activities conducted were painting, sketch, poetry and slogan writing competitions.

In the painting competition, Longmuso Jamir bagged first position, while Temsupong Imsong and Limasenla Jamir bagged the second and third positions.

Winners of the sketch competition were Imnichitla Jamir, Longmuso Jamir and Impongtsung Aier & Tsungsanger Jamir.  Akumsunep Longchar bagged the 1st prize in the slogan writing competition, while Imolemla and Merensashi R Jamir bagged second and third position.  In poetry competition, Tiarenla Jamir bagged the first position, Sunepjungla Walling second and Temjennaro third position. Winners were awarded cash prizes and certificates and participants with certificates and gift hampers. Pamphlet distribution, signature campaign, putting up of hoardings were also organised in and around Mokokchung town.

Wokha: In continuation with the beauty with a purpose project phase-2 of Miss Nagaland 2019, Wokha district administration and DLCW-MSK under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) in collaboration with Beauty and Aesthetic Society of Nagaland organised an awareness programme on livelihood generation and education on December 15 at DC conference hall, Wokha.

According to DIPR report, Miss Nagaland 2019, Vikuonuo Sachü talked on the demands of local produce by the people of Nagaland. She also emphasised on the hardships faced by local farmers especially during the COVID-19 pandemic and encouraged the participants to buy local produce.

EAC (P) Arhonbeni Ezung thanked the team for taking such kind of initiatives as a representative of Nagaland youths. Vote of thanks was given by Grace Ezung in the programme chaired and invocated by Libeni Ezung.
