ADC Dimapur prohibits sale of meat in open areas

Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Dimapur, V Lovitoly Sema has informed all butchers/meat traders within Dimapur district not to sell all dressed/processed meat in open/unauthorised road side within ten days from the issue of this order.  

 In an order, ADC Dimapur stated that in view of providing safe and hygienic meat to customers, all dressed/processed meat of animals should be sold in proper meat shops.

The ADC has prohibited sale of meat in open or unauthorised road side, open market stalls and highways, exposed to dust, flies and other pollutants which is unhygienic and may cause lot of health issues.  The ADC also informed all respective colonies, wards and village authorities to see that the order was followed. 

Further, butchers/meat traders have also been directed to obtain trade license from their respective municipal/ town council. All have been directed to comply with the order failing which, defaulters would be penalised as per provision of the Act.
