Ahead of the anticipated peace accord to be signed between the Centre, Assam government and six rebel organizations of Karbi Anglong, the All Adivasi Students Association of Assam on Monday held that the planned peace agreement required not to get in the way the social, political and economic privileges of the Adivasi community living in Karbi Anglong.

In a memorandum to chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, the All Adivasi Students Association of Assam mentioned that the political rights of the Adivasi people living in Karbi Anglong autonomous district should not be disadvantaged.

The memo mentioned that the non-tribal villages should not be omitted from the proposed Village Development Council and the stipulation for Kuki Regional Council should be taken into consideration.
