Agape college holds 27th convocation; 35 students graduate

35 students were conferred with graduating certificates from Agape College here on Friday. The 27th convocation programme was organised at the college chapel hall on the theme, “proclaim in words and deeds”. 

Delivering the message to the congregation, Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) former general secretary reverend Rev. Dr. Pongsing Konyak congratulated the graduates and wished them the best in their future endeavors. Focusing on the theme, Rev. Dr. Pongsing Konyak said that God uplifted hate with love, criticism with understanding and judgment with mercy and that He served the poor as He served the rich. The reverend exhorted the congregation that even if one thought that education and life was insignificant, it did not matter to God and that He would use the people as He had created each and every individual for a purpose. Further, he encouraged the graduates to remember God’s grace and to surrender their life to serve humanity following the footsteps of the Lord. 

The programme was chaired by lecturer Ikali Sumi, invocation was offered by lecturer Shahilo Tep and welcome address was delivered by College Board chairman, Dr. Maong Aier (IAS retd).  At the programme, scripture reading was presented by lecturer Zoche-u Khutso, valedictory speech was delivered by M. Div II Wazote, prayer of dedication by lecturer reverend MK Dhar and benediction by lecturer Mhabemo Kithan. It may be mentioned that 10 students were conferred with bachelor of theology, 20 students with master of divinity and five students with MA holistic child development.

On academic proficiency award in different departments (B.Th/M.Dv), prizes and awards were distributed under various categories while best preaching award, life and ministry award and academic excellency award were also presented. The conferring of degrees and awards were conducted by academic dean Anato and principal Dr. Samuel Venuh.
