Alfa Raiders wins Kabaddi championship

Alfa Raiders won the third junior (boys and girls) inter district Kabaddi championship 2021, held at Neingulie Memorial High School ground, Khermahal Dimapur, on Saturday. 
The championship was organised by Nagaland Kabaddi Association (NKA).  Addressing the gathering as chief guest, Kuzhouluzo Azo Neinu, MLA, acknowledged NKA for their contribution in promoting Kabaddi in the state and hoped that the association would further bring laurels to the state through the their participation in the national level. 
He further congratulated those students who would be selected to represent the state in the tournament to be conducted by All India Kabaddi Federation at Telanga. 
He was optimistic that under the instructions and able trained instructors from NKA, the players would bring laurels to the state.  Stressing that Nagaland always fell short of professionalism and producing champions, he maintained that the need of the hour for the state was to bring up people who were professionals and champions.  He urged the students to be self disciplined and also to take the opportunity to learn and master what was to be taught by their instructors. 
Guest of Honour for the programme, principal and proprietor, St. Mary’s Hr. Sec. School, Neena Dutta, in her brief address congratulated the winners for their success and further acknowledged all participants for their team work.  She stated that it was only through participation, that they were able to produce a winner. 
Earlier, the programme was chaired by Wangshikokla Jamir and special number presented by Veronica, of Maranatha Vision Bible College, while welcome address delivered by president, NKA, Dr. S Amos Lkr. 
Addressing media fraternity after the prize distribution ceremony, Dr. Amos stated that the association would be selecting 16 players each, both of boys and girls, where they would undergo training by trained officials. He added that the officials for the tournament were hired from Delhi, so as to maintain the professionalism of the game.
