ANTPEUU calls for issuing ads for physical edu instructors’ posts

DIMAPUR, JAN 22 (NPN) | Publish Date: 1/22/2021 1:09:18 PM IST

Noting that many trained and qualified physical education instructors are out of touch as no job advertisements have been issued by the State government, All Nagaland Trained Physical Education Unemployed Union (ANTPEUU) has resolved to pressurise authorities concerned to advertise the vacant posts by this year itself as, any delay in the process, would further worsen their condition.

The union said many trained physical education teachers had completed their course training in 2017 and were now waiting for job advertisements from the education department, which however seemed to be a far cry.  Stating that many trained teachers had become over-aged now, ANTPEUU asked who would take the responsibility for delay in advertisements for posts that had remained vacant for many years. At a meeting held here on January 20, the union said COVID-19 pandemic had a huge impact as no advertisements were issued and many of these qualified physical education instructors were now on the last year of their becoming over-aged since its demand had remained stagnant since 2019. In this regard, the union resolved to strengthen its demand, stand united and strive for justice in terms of advertisements and job placement. The meeting also discussed about the vacancies of physical teachers in government schools and the importance of physical activity and fitness during this pandemic, especially post pandemic. Observing that while India was advancing in the field of physical activity but Nagaland was lacking far behind, it stressed training students from an early stage at the grassroots level. It was also decided that a general meeting of the union would be held soon, which would be notified through WhatsApp group, and all members were requested to stay updated in this regard. This was stated in a press release by ANTPEUU president Kivilu K Kiba and general secretary Imchatsung.
