Ao Senden has urged the state government to extend lockdown and also provide financial assistance to all the district task force (DTFs). In a representation to the chief minister, Ao Senden vice president I Imkong Jamir and general secretary Imtipokyim expressed apprehension that there could be community spread with rapid increase in Covid cases and casualties with each passing day endangering the lives of the people.

Therefore, in order to break the chain of transmission and in the larger interest and safety of the people of Nagaland, the Senden has appealed to the state government to extend lockdown till the situation returned to normalcy. Further, asserting that the smooth functioning of different DTFs was being hindered due to financial restraints, the Senden urged the government to allocate enough financial assistance.

Ao Senden has acknowledged the concerted effort of the government besides the “paramount sacrifice” put in by the frontline workers under the leadership of the chief minister.
