APC members training on resolving issues

Assisi Peace Club (APC) members were trained on how to resolve issues in the school, homes and locality on November 20 and 21 under the theme, “A call for peace” at Assisi School, Dimapur.

A press release by Peace Channel Kohima stated that during the two-day training, purpose of joining peace club was discussed.
Trainer for the programme, coordinator of Kohima district, Alino S. Chishi explored children’s understanding of peace in their own lives and trained them to nurture inner-peace through meditation.
She highlighted the importance of confidence building, leadership skills, principles and peer mediation processes. She demonstrated on how to intervene the conflicting situation with examples and also introduced peer mediation and the role of a peer mediator. The members were also trained on how to conduct peace celebrations in the school. Earlier, programme was facilitated by coordinator of Dimapur district, Ng. Alan Paul. Altogether, 31 members were trained.
