Army dedicates vocational training centre in Tinsukia

 In a bid  to empower  locals, the Indian Army has established a new Vocational Training Center(VTC at  Mulukgaon in Tinsukia, Assam on March 13. 

A press release by AR PRO ( Defence) stated that the Indian Army in Upper Assam has established a number of VTCs in remote locations. In a short span,  these centers have received an overwhelming response due to the popularity of courses offered for training and good career prospects. 

Based on the positive response and request from the populace, the new VTC offers training in tailoring and gardening. 

These courses are being conducted in collaboration with Assam Skill Development Mission and National Skill Development Corporation under various schemes of PMKVY. 

The locals of the remote village appreciated the initiative of the Indian Army and expressed their gratitude for providing impetus to entrepreneurship amongst the people of the region, the release added. .
