Assam Rifles conduct various activities

Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N), conducted various activities under its civic action programme for the welfare of public.

Tuensang battalion: Tuensang battalion organised a medical camp at Longkhao village, Mon district and Lushai Wangti village, Tuensang, on April 19 and 20.

According to PRO HQ IGAR (N) the medical camp was aimed at providing medical assistance to the villagers especially the old, handicapped and women who were unable to visit hospitals at far distances.

Free medicines and medical care was provided to the affected people. The villagers were also educated on the importance of timely vaccination, personal hygiene and sanitation.

Altogether, 83 males, 61 females and 39 children benefitted from the camp.

Shamator battalion: Shamator battalion organised an awareness lecture-cum-demo on “wildlife conservation” at Government Primary School, Wensoi Village, Noklak, on April 21. 

The programme was organised with an aim to educate and spread awareness on the wildlife protection act 1972 and conservation of rare wild life animals and birds.

The lecture was attended by 60 students, teachers and staff of Government Primary School, Wensoi Village.

Jalukie battalion: Jalukie battalion organised a weapon display for NCC cadets of Peren district on April 21.

The weapon display was organised to educate NCC cadets on types of weapons used in the army.

Meanwhile, a demonstration on handling of weapons was also delivered in order to provide an insight on the operation and safety aspects.

Altogether, 108 NCC cadets from Peren Government College, Government High School, Baptist High School and All Saints High School attended the weapon display.
