ATMA Kma conducts launches farm school

ATMA Kohima block conducted field demonstration and launched a farm school at Chedema on September 11 and 17 respectively.

A press release by ATMA Kohima stated that ATM, Rokotuono Phira stated that garlic was a wide utility crop due to its health benefits and high demand in the market and encouraged farmers to promote garlic cultivation.

Demonstration on cabbage was conducted by ATM Thejavinuo Mepfü-o where she explained the cultivation practices from selection of field to harvesting. 

Demonstration of seed sowing of cabbage was also done in nursery bed. 

Meanwhile in a separate programme, ATMA Kohima block launched system of rice intensification (SRI) farm school at Chedema.

Farm school teacher, Mhalesetuo said that he adopted SRI with the intervention of agriculture department and mentioned that the vegetative growth was promising for a good yield.

Resource person further apprised farmers on kissan call centre (KCC) toll-free number and how they could effectively use it to their advantages.

Programme was chaired by ATM, Thejavinuo Mepfü-o and concept of farm school and duties of farm school teacher was highlighted by ATM, Rokuotuono Phira.
