Bana retain men’s Champions title; Kipeuzang emerge women’s Champ

Defending Champions Bana Rising Star on Wednesday emerged as the Champions of the Men’s category and retained their title at the 15th Peren Town inter-ward Football tournament for both men and women which began on March 3 under the aegis of Peren Town Youth Organization (PTYO). While Peren Kipeuzang was the Champions for women’s football held at Peren Town local ground.

In men’s final match, a solitary goal for Ndining came from the boot of Dinchap in the first half, however, the Champions Bana Rising Star wasted no time and came back with the equaliser from Apeu Irangbe in the first half. The first half ended with 1-1 draw. 

In a thrilling second half, Bana Rising Star fought back and netted their second goal by Puiheilung to register their lead. Then Apeu Irangbe sealed the 3-1 win for the defending champions. Ndining made numerous efforts for come-back but failed to make a break through in the second half.

While in women’s final match, both Peren Kipeuzang and Nsetning failed to score in the stipulated time and played out a goalless draw. Further, in penalty shootout (sudden death), Peren Kipeuzang won by 3-2 against the defending Champion Nsetning to claim the women’s Champions title. Nsetning failed to retain their title.  In men’s individual award, Golden Gloves award was bagged by Heguirang Hegui (Ndining), Golden Ball by Apeu Irangbe (Bana Rising Star) and Golden Boot by Puiheilung (Bana Rising Star). While in women’s category, Golden Globes award was bagged by Suiyingausile (Nsetning), Golden Ball by Kangzangyile (Peren Kipeuzang) and Golden Boot by Nsamyile (Peukwakram).

The special guest of the final match was EAC Peren Hq., Seyievilie Pfukri, invocation was offered by principal All Saints Hr. Sec. School, Rev. Father Joe; special melody byZangzang Zeliang; short speech was delivered by president PTYO, Nduzeu Herie while vote of thanks was proposed by convenor, tournament committee, Bangau Nza.
