Biren attends over 500 cases in monthly public interaction

Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh attended complaints and grievances of over 500 people during his monthly Meeyamgi Numit and Hill Leaders’ Day held jointly at Chief Minister’s Secretariat on Saturday.

First preferences were given to differently-abled persons, widows, and old-aged people to resolve their grievances and issues. The chief minister personally attended around 500 complaints and met nearly 1500 people from 7.30 am till 1.00 pm, it added.

Health department officials were deputed to the CM’s Secretariat to attend to the people seeking medical assistance, issuance of CHMT cards, reimbursement and health care in government medical hospitals. 

Officials of Manipur State Co-operative Bank Ltd, education (s), minority and other backward classes, social welfare, police department, State Bank of India etc. were also deputed to the venue to attend to the grievances of the public.

Huge numbers of people were seen gathered at the gate of CM’s Bungalow from early morning to obtain gate pass. 

The Chief Minister’s Secretariat made elaborate arrangements for the convenience of the general public. Light refreshments including water, tea and snacks were provided to visitors. 

A medical team along with an ambulance and a team of Manipur Fire Service were kept on stand-by at the complex for any emergency.

Unlike the previous events, the chief minister did not brief the media. In the previous months, the chief minister would brief the media on the outcome of the event.
