CCCTA urges delivery agencies to improve service

After multiple complaints from the general public against poor courier/delivery service, the Chumoukedima Chamber of Commerce and Trade Association (CCCTA) convened a coordination meeting with all the courier/delivery service agencies operating in Chumoukedima jurisdiction on July 9 and 11.

In a press release, CCCTA president James Kin, vice president Bohoto Achumi and general secretary Medochüzo Medoze informed that several issues dealing with improvement and efficiency of delivery/courier service in Chumoukedima jurisdiction were discussed with the responsible agencies.

At the meeting, CCCTA reprimanded the agencies for poor services and instructed them to ensure door to door service as far as possible since customers had paid and were entitled to delivery at their door steps.

CCCTA also advised the employees of delivery/courier agencies to conduct themselves professionally and ensure that the customer was satisfied with the service.

Meanwhile, the association acknowledged the delivery agencies on being accommodative and forthcoming to the suggestions while assuring good services in the future.

The courier agencies also shared grievances on technical and operational difficulties faced. They urged the customers to provide accurate address details with proper landmarks for delivery; to not harass the courier/delivery agents on petty issues and to be weary of fake sites and make orders only from trusted and authenticated shopping websites in order to avoid being duped. While maintaining that the concept of online shopping and courier services was “fairly new to our society” requiring tweaks every now and then to improve at both ends, CCCTA urged the public and service providers to be forthcoming with issues or grievances and that they could approach CCCTA at office hours.
