Central team reviews COVID-19 activities in Dimapur

COVID-19 central team visited Dimapur district to review the district’s COVID-19 activities and to support the district in public health measures and clinical management of COVID-19 on December 13.

A press release by deputy CMO, Dimapur, Dr. Antoly Suu stated that, the team held a meeting with Dimapur District Task Force (DTF) on COVID-19 led by DC Rajesh Soundararajan. Highlighting that Dimapur was the gateway of the state and also neighbouring states like Manipur, the DC said that maximum effort was needed by all the departments involved.  He also mentioned how the district handled COVID-19 with support from the sub-divisional level committees for COVID-19 and faith-based organisations and communities.

District surveillance officer, Dr. Imtiwabong, and medical superintendent, District hospital Dimapur, Dr. Keveduyi presented the district COVID-19 activities and COVID Hospital activities respectively since January till date.

The central team visited District Hospital Dimapur and COVID Care Center Chümoukedima after the meeting. Team included Dr. S. R Karmakar, sr. public health specialist, All India Institute of Hygiene & Public Health, Kolkata and Dr. Mohd. Jamil, associate professor medicine, NEIGRHIMS, Shillong. 

Earlier, programme was chaired by state nodal officer, IDSP, Dr. Nyan. Dr. Antoly Suu, Dy.CMO, Dr. Temsu, pathologist, Dr. Toska, Dr. Bano, Dr. Benchilo, Dr. Rebecca, Dr. Longri, Dr. Ron, Dr. Narola and IDSP Dimapur staff attended the programme.
