Charity marks Valentine’s Day at Dimapur

 Every year, February 14 is celebrated as Valentine’s Day across the world, where people spend the time with their loved ones.  

Dimapur however witnessed a greater share of love where citizens and organizations came together to support financially deprived students by organising charity events in aid of the students educational career. 

Team Better Dimapur

Few days back, Ebenezer Orphanage Home (EOH) posted an ad on Facebook, selling off a set of Tata Sky Dish and its set up box for a sum of Rs. 1500, to pay off school fees of two students of EOH. 

Social media however did justice to the posted ad when Alobo Naga, along with Team Better Dimapur, an initiative of Dimapur Municipal Council, came forward to organise a charity event to help the students in the orphanage, and also help them retain their dish and the set up box. 

Speaking with Alobo Naga, he stated that the greatest gift we can give our children was education, adding that once we provide education, they can survive on their own. “We should make it a social responsibility that every children around us is not deprived of education and not as charity” he stated, and urged every Naga to do so in their own capacity.  

He further gave glory to God and lauded team Better Dimapur for coming forward and making the event a grant success.  

He also thanked his fans and well wishers for contributing towards the noble cause, further maintaining funds were not only generated not only from within the state but also outside and even abroad.   

Speaking with a member from Better Dimaur, Along Aier maintained that when the team saw the ad in Facebook, the energy to do something about for the orphanage home was very much urging amongst the team members. 

He stated that resources were collected from amongst the team members, whereby on the process of organising the event for the noble cause, it went viral on social media and people from different walks of life approached the team to help out, both in cash and kind. 

He stated that team Better Dimapur only created the platform for the people to help the orphanage, and further reiterated that that the team was always ready to help anyone in their needs. He also informed that the team was planning to repaint Clock Tower. 

Director, EOH, Akum Amri, in the interview gave glory to God for everything and thanked everyone for their generous and humanitarian contributions. 

He stated that anything that the orphanage needed or desired was always answered through prayers, and further added that the event in itself was a miracle. 

Amri revealed that the ad posted in Facebook was to pay off the school fees of two children from the orphanage home. “God’s plan was much bigger than my plan”, Amri confessed. 

He manifested that as long as one is alive and breathing, one should not hesitate to fulfil the act of kindness, sharing and love. “The more we exercise love, the more we feel comfort and happy”, Amri added. 

“What started as a simple Facebook ad, amalgamated to a bigger aspect” Bambi Kevicusa stated. 

It can be noted that EOH presently takes care of 18 Children. 

Can Youth

Can Youth too on Valentine’s Day organised charity under the theme, “Act of Benevolence” for two financially deprived students, here at Buna Café. 

Chief Functionary, Can Youth, Jenpu Rongmei, in an interview stated that education plays a pivotal role in a youth’s life and is a key success for the future which provides advantages in achieving their desired goals. 

He stated in Nagaland there are many families who are unable to send their children to school because of financial constraint, whereby, Can Youth, Networking and Fundraising Team, initiated the charity aid to support the two less privileged student. 

“A small act of our kindness towards the people who are in need will be a happy moment for the children in fulfilling their dreams and in upbringing their lives” Jenpu added. 

He stated that the charity aid aimed to develop and provide sustainability for the underprivileged Children in their educational career.
