CHOs manning HWCs provided with IT equipments

Community health officers (CHOs) manning the Health & Wellness Centres (HWCs) in Kohima district were provided with IT equipments at the SPMU hall, DoH & FW, Kohima on November 26, facilitated by National Health Mission (NHM), Nagaland, mission director,  Dr. Kevichusa Medikhrü.

A press release by DoH&FW NHM stated that, Dr. Kevichusa encouraged the CHOs to work hard and diligently so that people were benefited through the centre. He mentioned that goal of the HWC was to decrease the mortality and morbidity especially of the mother and child and also the out of pocket expenditure of the people at the grassroots.
State programme officer, NHM Dr. Thanghoi Lam expressed appreciation to the development partners, USAID-NISHTHA-Jhpiego for making the Naga Telehealth happen, an exclusive App developed for Nagaland and UNICEF for the ANMOL tablet through the ministry. NHM deputy director, Dr. Manyau Phom mentioned that, in the first phase the IT equipment for Tele Health would be given to 82 HWCs and the second phase for the rest of the 82 centres. 
Naga Tele health was launched by minister of Health, S. Pangnyu Phom on September 9, with an aim to ensure continuity of essential health services to people across the state. The model will work on a hub and spoke approach and connect medical officers and specialist doctors for general and specialized tele consultation.
