CMO office Kma conducts RCH and health camp at Kigwema

Chief Medical Officer (CMO) office of Kohima along with district health society (DHS), department of health & family welfare, NHM conducted reproductive child health (RCH)-cum-health camp at council hall, Kigwema village on March 27.

According to a press release, CMO Dr. Vezokholu Theyo in her address encouraged the gathering to avail all services and gain maximum profit from the health camp. 
She informed the gathering that the village was selected as it showed vast changes in the performances even though primary health centre (PHC) existed.
Dr. Theyo mentioned children and pregnant mothers were given priority and stressed on community level where VHC took initiative for village health & nutrition day (VHND).
She educated them on IMR and MMR and stated that health camps were platforms for people to avail services provided by department of health & family welfare.
She also spoke on the need of community participation for sustainable health care services through their participation and active contribution.
Meanwhile, ICTC screening for 10 ANC clients, 33 dental procedures, 37 ENT, 65 Malaria slides and 70 other miscellaneous were provided. 
Gifts and nutritional packages were also distributed to fully immunised children and pregnant mothers and lab tests with free medicines and distribution of IEC materials were arranged.
Altogether, 230 people benefitted from the health camp.
