CMO Wokha conducts Kayakalp orientation training

District level Kayakalp orientation training was conducted on February 5, at Chief Medical Officer’s (CMO) conference hall Wokha. 

According to a press release, while delivering the keynote address, CMO Wokha, Dr. CW Tungoe mentioned that Kayakalp was instituted a few years back in the country by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to improve services in the health care sector.

He encouraged medical officers and community health officers to maintain good hygiene and sanitation practices at health facilities in order to provide good services to the patients.

Most of the health and wellness centers in the district are doing exceptionally well and are actively participating in for the patient’s welfare, he added.

Meanwhile, resource person, Dr. Thungchabeni Pattton, DPM (Q) Wokha gave a brief introduction of Kayakalp which comes under quality assurance programme.

She took sessions on hospital upkeep, sanitation and hygiene, waste management and hospital support services. 

Altogether, 23 medical officers and community health officers participated in the training programme.
