Central Nagaland Student’s Association (CNSA) has urged the state government to give balanced priority and utmost attention to foothill road construction making it as trans- Nagaland road.

A press release by CNSA president Himato Yeptho and general secretary, Lipemo M. Tsopoe also extended unflinching support to Nagaland Foothill Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC) in their endeavour to accomplish the project. Earlier in November 2018, during its 3rd general conference in Wokha, the CNSA held a threadbare discussion on the viability of foothill road and resolved to extend fullest support and cooperation to NFHRCC for implementation and early completion of the road. CNSA stated that foothill road was very vital for economic and social growth for the state of Nagaland as it shortens the travel and also help connect the larger part of the state.

Pointing out that this road would immensely help the people of Wokha, Mokokchung, Zunheboto and the larger eastern Naga areas to connect with the only commercial hub of the state, the CNSA stated that it would help the farmers to bring their produce to the market without having to cross other states.

CNSA also lauded the state government and the government of India for accelerating road connectivity in the state, for fuelling the economic security and safety of its citizens.
