Covid-19: SOP salient features & information

In view of COVID-19 pandemic, government of Nagaland and its agencies has issued salient features of Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for home isolation and information to be followed by public.

Salient features of SOP for home isolation of COVID-19 cases: According to DIPR report, the department has informed that step by step instructions for the home isolation of asymptomatic COVID-19 patient can be availed through https://nagahealth.nagaland.gov.in or by calling state health helpline-1800-345-0019
The salient features are as follows:
1. Only eligible for persons who do not have symptoms or having very mild symptoms after the medical officer certifies.
2. Not eligible for patients who are HIV+, transplant recipients, on cancer therapy etc, while elderly patients and people with hypertension, diabetes, heart disease, chronic lungs/lever/kidney disease etc shall be allowed only after proper evaluation.
3. Facility of single bedroom with proper ventilation is mandatory and preferably with attached or separate bathroom. Must keep appropriate disinfectants, mask and gloves.
4. Patient must apply for approval to the District Surveillance Officer with copy to village council/town council/ municipal council, following which the medical team will examine and certify.
5. Patient should download the nCOVID-19 Nagaland-visitors app, select ‘mark yourself in quarantine’ and mandatorily enter into the app twice daily.
6. Medical team will also conduct telephonic monitoring of symptoms.
7. Home isolation will be for 14 days followed by 14 days home quarantine if no symptoms.
8. If symptoms develop, patient will be shifted to COVID hospital depending on the severity of symptoms.
9. Violator(s) of the SOP will be penalized as per the relevant section of the Disaster Management Act 2005, and the Nagaland    Epidemic Disease (COVID-19) Regulations 2020.
ADC Longleng notifies: In pursuance of the order/ guidelines on unlock 4, ADC & Administrator Longleng D.Robin has issued an order that the following instructions have been issued in supersession of all previous order/circular/notification issued earlier with immediate effect. According to DIPR report, the ADC warned that any violation of the mentioned guidelines and protocols shall attract action as per legal provisions thereof. 
The guidelines are:
1. All restaurant/Hotels/other hospitality units /Baber shops/Salons/Beauty parlors and second hand clothes shops are allowed to open and function subjected to strict compliance of the guidelines.
2. Necessary guidelines on prevention measures to contain the spread of covid-19,such as compulsory wearing of face mask, strict maintenance of social distancing and provisions for hand washing/sanitization and other safety protocols should be strictly adhered to.
3. Person above the age of 65 years of Age, person with Co morbidities, pregnant women and children below the age of 10 are advised to stay home, except for essential and health purposes.
4. Spitting and smoking in public places is strictly prohibited.
5. Takeaways to be encouraged, instead of Dine-in, directly contact should be avoided with customers while handing the food packets.
6. Sitting arrangement to be made in such a way that adequate social distancing is maintained, not more than 50% seating capacity to be permitted.
7. Only asymptomatic staff and patrons shall be allowed.
8. Used of good quality disposable paper napkins instead of cloth napkins.
9. All entrance should have mandatory hand hygiene and thermal screening provisions.
10. For Baber shops/Salons and beauty parlors, only selected services such as haircut, dyeing hair, threading, waxing etc are allowed, skin related services are not permitted. Clients are encourage to bring own gown and towels.
11. All equipments and non-disposable tools and frequently touched objects/surfaces like chair/Table clothes/door knobs/handlers/taps/sinks and floor/common areas must be cleaned with sodium hypochlorite solution.
12. In case of cash payment, customers should be encouraged to pay the exact amount to reduce physical contact.
13. No staff/client shall be allowed if he/she is having Covid-19 like symptoms like fever, cough, difficulty in breathing etc.
Tseminyu COVID-19 task force holds meeting: ADC Tseminyu, W. Manpai Phom, who is also the chairman COVID-19 Task Force Tseminyu sub division, held a meeting with leaders of Rengma Students Union, Rengma Youth Organisation/Rengma Selo Zi and government officials on Friday at his office chamber. According to DIPR report, the meeting deliberated on the decisions taken during sub-division task force for Covid-19 for organising mass awareness campaign on COVID-19 in Tseminyu sub-division. The meeting also discussed improvement of waste management system in Tseminyu Town. It resolved to tentatively launch the awareness campaign in the first week of October 2020.
