Dimapur beat Mokokchung in opener

Dimapur thrashed Mokokchung by 107 runs in the inaugural match of the 1st late G. Rio Memorial U-19 (Boys) Inter-District Tournament at Nagaland Cricket Stadium, Sovima here on Monday. The tournament is organised by Nagaland Cricket Association (NCA). In the second match of the day, Kohima beat Tuensang by 22 runs. 

Put into bat, half centuries from Sujal Prasad (54) and Monu Kumar (50) helped Dimapur scored a competitive total of 186/7 in 25 overs. 

Yugandhar also contributed 33 runs. For Mokokchung, Odilemba, Purtongzuk and Nripen took two wickets each. 

In the run chase, Mokokchung were bowled out for 79 in 19.2 overs. 

Raja Sha claimed four wickets for Dimapur. Mughavi (34) and Oling Jamir (11) were the major run contributors for Mokokchung. 

In the other match, batting first after winning the toss, Kohima were restricted to 139 in 22.1 overs by Tuensang bowlers. Rajesh took four wickets while Koirul claimed three for Tuensang.  Seyievizo (51) was the top scorer for Kohima. 

In reply, Tuensang were bowled out for 117 runs with tight bowling from the opponent bowlers led by Samual Zaputou, who took three wickets.  Philip Zhimomi and Zidu Pohena also took two wickets each. Baharul (42) and Monu (21) were the major runs getters for Tuensang. 

It may be noted that Nagaland Cricket Association (NCA) has recently tied up with CricHeroes, Ahmedabad based Company, as the official online scoring partner for all the tournaments organised by NCA, informed secretary of the association, Hyunilo Anilo Khing.
