Considering the sensitiveness of the matter the respondents were given three weeks time to file their affidavit-in-opposition as last chance, the single bench of Justice Songkhupchung Serto stated in the order.
The petitioner insisted that an interim prayer may be taken up, to which the court  ruled that if the matter could not be heard and disposed of on the next date fixed, the interim prayer would be heard.
It may be mentioned that a PIL was filed on September 2 calling for quashing of the notification by the State government banning commercial import and trading of dogs, dog markets and sale of dogs in the State. The case is in the stage of admission.
