DPDB meetings held in four districts

District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meetings for the month of April were held in Kohima, Mokokchung, Zunheboto and Mon on April 15.  

Kohima: Exit programme of village adoption committee (VAC) & DPDB meeting was held at DPDB hall, Kohima.

According to DIPR report, six teams of VACs presented a PowerPoint presentation on their activities from 2019 to 2020.

ADC Kohima, N. Bhavani Sri declared best teams of VAC where 9 Kohima Town team (Lower PWD Colony) was awarded first position, 10th Northern Angami-I and 15 Southern Angami-II as runners up respectively. 

DC Kohima Gregory Thejawelie acknowledged VAC teams on the activities undertaken for the benefit of adopted village.

Nagaland State Biodiversity Board chairman gave a PowerPoint presentation on departmental activities and highlighted the status on implementation of biological diversity Act 2002 and rules 2004 in Nagaland international efforts towards biodiversity conservation.

The members also discussed and set up a new VAC for 2021-22 and Aspirational Block Committee (ABC) members for 2021-26. 

PHED urban while giving a PowerPoint presentation mentioned that under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), 479 households were covered, supplying five lakh litres of water per day at Kohima Science College area.

It added that by 2021, water supply would reach Phesama, Chede model village, Jotsoma Village, Chedema village and Kohima village.

Advisor, urban development and municipal affairs, Dr. Nicky Kire encouraged VACs to continue rendering full support and contribute which would benefit the villagers. Advisor, youth resources and sports and chairman DPDB, Zale Neikha also felicitated best performing teams of VAC.

Mokokchung: Mokokchung DPDB meeting was held under the chairmanship of speaker NLA, Sharingain Longkumer and DPDB Mokokchung chairman, minister, rural development Metsübo Jamir and minister, mechanical & housing Tongpang Ozukum attended the meeting.

The house decided to re-examine the proposal on development of a Public Park at Mokokchung while upgrading of Ongpangkong EAC circle to the status of SDO (C) and creation of EAC Longsa post was approved. The proposal of upgrading of Alichen to urban station was approved by the house and forwarded to the government.

The housed also approved the proposal by Mokokchung district football association to host Dr. T. Ao inter district football tournament, 2022 at Mokokchung

Construction of multi-purpose indoor sports hall building at Mopungchuket Village and black topping of Chubayimkum road was also approved.

Registration of Serendipity Society, Dilong Ward Mokokchung was approved and forwarded for registration. 

CMO Chubala Aier also gave a report on COVID-19 vaccination in the district.

Zunheboto: Zunheboto DPDB meeting was held at DC’s conference, chaired by DC Zunheboto, Peter Lichamo.

The house reviewed on selection of a location for setting up of Public Park at Zunheboto. The search committee brought forward a suitable location at Lizu Naghuto.

Dr. M Nungshisangla Jamir delivered a report on vaccination status.

SP Zunheboto, T. Uniel Kichu informed any person roaming around without mask would be penalised a sum of Rs. 100 and a sum of Rs. 500 for shops, hotels etc., if found without hand sanitisers.

The agenda discussed included creation of town council at Akuluto town, which the house decided to send the proposal to the government.

A PowerPoint presentation was also presented by department of land resource, DPO Vikugha Sema.

Mon: Mon DPDB meeting was held at DC’s conference hall, chaired by DC Mon Thavaseelan K. 

MLA & chairman DPDB Mon, N. Thongwang Konyak appealed to the house to deliberate on ways to tackle the second wave of COVID-19 while also proposing for the board to send suggestions to the state level for closure of institutions and banning of mass gathering. 

The board unanimously passed the following proposals: financial assistance to expand apiary; creation of medical sub-centre at Longphoah village; shifting of Medical College Mon to Chah-yo area Mon village and creation of additional Anganwadi centre at Chingkao Nyaho village under Chen circle. 

The house agreed to pass the proposal brought out by ADC Aboi, Chumlamo Humtsoe after completion of social welfare departmental procedures. 

On creation of Eklvya Model Residential School at Angjangyong and Tobu, the DC highlighted that the upcoming EMRS Longwa would be sanctioned by ministry of tribal affairs. 

Model College for Women; the proposal was put up by KNSK President, Ponglem Konyak who highlighted that the location for the proposed college was identified which would be free of cost. 

Chief veterinary officer Mon, Dr. Vilatuo Rutsa highlighted the shortage of meat production in the district as compared to the demand and stressed on the importance of boosting the production for self-sufficiency.

Dr. Vilatuo Rutsa  also highlighted the recent case of mysterious deaths of pigs in Tobu area and stated that samples had been sent to Bhopal for determination of cause.  

The meeting witnessed PowerPoint presentations by: ECS representative Vishak on permaculture; principal, Wangkhao College Mon, Wati Imchen on challenges and problems faced by the college on its way to NAAC accreditation; executive engineers of PWD (R&B) Mon and executive engineer of power on their activities. 

DIO Mon, Shasinle Tep highlighted on the updates of vaccination in the district.
