Fuel prices hiked for 2nd day

State-owned oil marketing companies (OMCs) increased prices of petrol and diesel for the second consecutive day on Wednesday. The prices of petroleum product have now reached new highs with the latest increase.

Petrol prices increased from 26-29 paise per litre and diesel by 24-27 paise per litre across the country, depending on local taxes levied on the two petroleum products, reports IANS report. According to ICOL website, petrol in the national capital is now priced at Rs 87.60 and diesel Rs 77.73 per litre.

After Wednesday’s rate revision, petrol price in Dimapur rose to Rs.90 per litre while diesel price climbed to Rs.80.64 per litre. In the state capital Kohima, price of petrol increased to Rs. 90.93 per litre and diesel price surged to Rs.81.37 per litre. The petrol and diesel prices have increased 14 times in 2021, which add up to Rs 3.89 and Rs 3.86 per litre respectively so far.
