Governor, deputy CM greet on Tsokum and Yemshe festivals

Governor of Nagaland, R. N. Ravi has extended warm greetings to the Khiamniungan and Pochury communities on their Tsokum and Yemshe festivals respectively. Governor conveyed that apart from celebrating these festivals, sharing and giving were the wonderful practices observed. He further stated that it was important to pass on the culture and tradition to the children, during these festivals marked with traditional games, sports, dances and songs. While observing the festivals during this extraordinary situation, the Governor pray that Almighty bless everybody abundantly with good health, peace of mind and prosperity. Tsokum and Yemshe are both harvest festivals, where Tsokum invokes blessings for a bountiful harvest and Yemshe rejoices in the fruit of hard work. 

Meanwhile, the deputy CM and BLP leader, Y. Patton also extended greetings to the Khiamniungan and Pochury communities on the occasion of Tsokum and Yemshe festivals respectively. Patton termed the festivals as reasons to keep each other in thoughts and prayers, and celebrate the rich cultural heritage and to preserve one’s identity. Patton also prayed that the Almighty may bless the communities with bountiful harvests, good health, renewed relationships, happiness, peace and prosperity upon all.
