HCHSS Dimapur inaugurates new building

Holy Cross Higher Secondary School (HCHSS) inaugurated its new Higher Secondary building on Saturday. 

The inauguration was initiated by president, Catholic Association of Nagaland and HoD, NSDMA, Johnny Ruangmei while unveiling of plaque was carried out by provincial supervisor, Silchar province, Rev. Sr. M Lucious BS.

Addressing the gathering, Johnny Ruangmei stated that a building indicated the eminent feature of every culture and he cited the example of Egyptians constructing the pyramids for a specific reason. He hoped that the newly constructed and inaugurated school building would serve the students and teachers vastly. 

He shared about advancement of technology especially in the field of education and urged teachers to be well equipped with technology. 

Bishop of Kohima, Most Rev. Dr. James Thoppil in his short address stated that Catholic churches were under the service of Nagas and that they were ever ready to provide the best with humble expenses at every nook and corner of the state. 

Further delivering a short speech, chairman, Holy Cross, Rev. Fr. Thomas Panamthanam informed the gathering that the new building consisted of 24 class rooms, two staff rooms and one office. 

He added that the new building was completed with a cost of Rs. 3 crores. 

Earlier, programme was chaired by Amongla and invocation by Rev. Dr. James. 

Welcome speech was delivered by principal, Holy Cross, Rev. Fr. Philip Yanpvuthung and a welcome song by students of Class 12, while vote of thanks was proposed by Khanmungla Raleng and Christmas song by Henry Tungoe.
