Hyderabad FC defeated NorthEast United FC 4-2 in the Indian Super League (ISL) match at the Tilak Maidan Stadium in Vasco on Friday.

Gerard Nus had deployed NorthEast in a 4-3-3 formation while Manuel Marquez fielded Hyderabad in a 4-2-3-1 formation.

Hyderabad got off to a flying start taking the lead in the 3rd minute through Aridane Santana. Joel Chianese made it 2-0 in the 36th minute. Federico Gallego pulled one back from the penalty spot in the 45th minute. Benjamin Lambot made it 2-2 in first half injury time. Liston Colaco made it 3-2 in the 3rd minute of injury time.

NorthEast were awarded a penalty as Halicharan Narzary brought down Ashutosh Mehta inside the penalty box in the 44th minute. Federico Gallego stepped out and fired the ball straight down the middle to make it 2-1. Hyderabad could count themselves as replays showed that the initial contact was made just outside the box.

NorthEast levelled things in first half injury time through Benjamin Lambot. A cross created chaos inside the Hyderabad penalty box. There were 5 NEUFC players and Laxmikant Kattimani and the ball was moving around. Finally, Lambot smashed it in.

The first half ended at 2-2. Both teams created plenty of opportunities but neither were able to make them count.

Liston Colaco made it 3-2 in the 85th minute. The winger received the ball from Asish Rai on the right side and worked his way into the NorthEast United penalty box. He cut inside and curled the ball into the net with his left. It was an absolute beauty.

Liston Colaco scored his second of the night in the 3rd minute of injury time. A long ball thumped forward came off of Aridane Santana’s shoulder and fell to Colaco charging down the middle. Holding off a defender, he slipped it beyond the reach of the goalkeeper and into the net.

The win moved Hyderabad up to 3rd spot with 15 points from 10 games. NorthEast remained at 7th with 11 points from 10 games.
