Indian Dental association, Nagaland state branch (IDANSB) organised free dental camp in all the districts of Nagaland as part of community dental health programme on February12 and 13.

A press release by president IDANSB, Dr Kaketo Yepthomi stated that the free dentures were delivered to 441 patients along with free medicines, tooth brushes, toothpastes. 

Kohima district headed by honorary secretary, Dr Vichovol held the camps in Viswema CHC and Tseminyu wherein a total number of 542 patients were screened. 106 dentures were delivered, 82 extractions and 54 restorations were done.

Dimapur district was headed by president of IDA, Dr.  Kaketo Yepthomi and CDH convenor, Dr. Naomi Zhimomi where the camps were held in nine different locations such as Chümoukedima, 5th mile, Diphupar, Thilixu, Aoyimti, Railway colony, Nisato colony, Rilan and Kevijau. 632 patients were screened, 203 dentures were delivered, 10 extractions and 30 restorations were done.

In Wokha district, the camp was held at Yikhum village with total of 70 patients and 24 dentures.

Tseminyu district team was headed by Dr. Arenla Walling with total 374 patients, 35 dentures and 43 extractions. Kiphire district saw 17 patients and 13 extractions while in Mon district, the camp was held at The Old Age Home with 15 patients and five dentures.

Meanwhile, in Zunheboto district, 21 patients were screened and 27 dentures were delivered and in Mokokchung, 32 patients were screened and 17 dentures were delivered.

Peren district saw a total of 43 patients with 30 dentures and 12 extractions.

It may be noted that members of IDANSB contributed funds for Community Dental Health Camp. Funds collected were used for procure dental materials. Equipments and consumable goods were also contributed by the members for the denture camp.

It may be noted that follow-up of patients treated during the camp would be done in clinics without charging fees.
