IEC campaign conducted at Dhansiripar sub-division

 An IEC campaign was organized in six villages under Dhansiripar sub-division, Dimapur on the importance of water and sanitation from August 4 to 6 amongst the community leaders.

A press release by PHED (Rural) division, Dimapur stated that, JE, PHED, Dimapur (Rural)  Er. G. Hotolu Sumi shared technical know-how on matters of importance in the ongoing works of the department. IEC consultant, PHED, Dimapur (Rural) Vibou Seyie dwelt on the various activities being undertaken by the department like the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), the need to initiate construction of community sanitary complexes, Individual Household Latrines (IHHL), besides sustenance of Open Defecation Free status and building of community ownership, regular practice of hand hygiene for promoting public health and to better the lives of the rural populace, especially during this COVID-19 pandemic, wherein Dimapur was the hardest hit. 

The programme was aimed at creating awareness amongst the rural community on the Swachh Bharat Mission Grameen.  As part of social responsibility, masks were also given en-route the villages to volunteers at the check gates and workshops. The programme was organized by the PHED (Rural) division, Dimapur and sponsored by WSSO, PHED, Nagaland, Kohima. The campaign was also undertaken in different blocks of Dimapur.

SO, PHED, Dimapur (Rural) Lanupokyim Longkumer chaired the programme.
