12,271 national flags sold across Nagaland

Post master general, NE II, Som Kamei on Saturday, disclosed that 331 post offices across the state has sold 12,271 national flags from August 4 till August 6 as part of “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign.
Addressing the media at MDG building, Kamei said India Post was selected by the government of India as distributor and seller of national flag as part of the campaign.
He said Indian Post as a symbol of national integrity and unity was selected as the distributor as it reached out to all parts of India.
When asked on the size and amount of the flag, he informed that the national flag would be available in all post offices across the state at Rs. 25, in the size 30×20 inches without flagpole.
Som Kamei added that the flags would be available on their ePost office portal departmental website, After placing the order, the nearest post office would carry out the delivery, he informed.
Kamei also stated that all the money generated through the selling of flags would go directly to the government of India.
The PMG later informed that out of the total flags sold in the state, most were bought in bulk by institutions, political parties and the military.
He said a total of 20,000 flags were allocated for the state and informed that more would be brought in if the demand increased.
Further, Kamei said Selfie points were set up outside the office and requested the youth to click selfies and upload them with hastag #IndiaPost4Tiranga.
He also appealed to the public “to hoist the national flag” as a part of the campaign.
