5000 from Nagaland register for Agniveer recruitment rally

Around 5,000 Naga youth have registered for the Agniveer army recruitment rally proposed to be held at Bhagat Stadium, Rangapahar Military Station, from September 7 to 15. This was disclosed by army recruiting officer Col Rajesh during a coordination meeting of stakeholder departments of Dimapur district held at the conference hall of Dimapur deputy commissioner’s (DC) office here on Wednesday.
Chaired by Dimapur additional deputy commissioner (ADC) Mhalo Humstoe, the meeting discussed issues for convenience of Naga youth aspirants for the Agniveer recruitment rally.
Terming the recruitment rally as a good opportunity for the unemployed youth of Nagaland, the ADC impressed upon the members for taking the matter seriously by way of disseminating the message to all.
Col Rajesh sought support from the district administration during the rally with regard to transportation and accommodation, especially for those coming from interior districts.
He also stressed the need for medical staff, including a doctor and ambulance, during the entire rally period.
He further stressed on the need for at least five officials from the Education Department to help the army during verification of documents.
The army recruitment officer informed the meeting that activities at the rally ground would include pre-height and document check, 1.6-km run, physical measurements, physical fitness tests and medical check.
Selected candidates would appear for the common entrance exam on October 16, 2022 and results would be declared by October-end. The candidates selected on merit basis would be despatched to different training centres by December, Col Rajesh added.
The candidates had been asked to bring their admit cards to the rally. This was stated in a DIPR release.
