The 7th edition of North-East India Inter-State Friendship Car Rally 2022 which was flagged off from Itanagar reached Nagaland state capital on Monday.
Organised by International Friendship Car Rally Association, the rally aims to promote and create awareness about the tourism of the Northeastern region.
A total of 46 participants reached Kohima and a cultural exchange programme was held at Hotel Japfu in collaboration with department of Tourism.
International Friendship Car Rally Association (IFCRA),president Pem Sonam said that the objective of the rally was to provide a platform to expose the traditional and cultural association amongst the people from the eight north-eastern states and to encourage the people to explore and experience the myriad cultures and communities across the region.
Sonam said that that the rally focuses on the youth in various states to have interaction with each other and look into matters of different communities regarding the border issues that plagues the region as the North-eastern states shared a unique and time tested relationship, characterized by trust, goodwill and mutual understanding at all levels. 21 year old, Gopi Lollen, who is the youngest participant, said that the rally expands exposure and gets to understand each other’s culture.
The rally will be covering 2800 kilometres and will proceed to Assam.
The rally is sponsored by the North eastern Council, Ministry of DoNER and the department of Youth Affairs, Government of Arunachal Pradesh.
