AAN observes ‘World Fish Migration Day’

Along with the rest of the world, Anglers Association Nagaland (AAN) observed “World Fish Migration Day 2022” on at Brooder Fish Farm, Half Nagarajan, Dimapur, on Saturday.
The day is observed to raise awareness and join others in protecting and preserving threatened species of fish that migrate for feeding, breeding and to encourage young people to take up angling as a sport.
At the programme, the children participants of different age groups took part in drawing and painting competitions.
They were also sensitised on angling etiquettes and made to catch and release fishes as part of the activities.
Later, prizes of various competitions and categories were also handed to the participants.
It may be mentioned that similar programmes were also organised in Mokokchung, Wokha and Tuensang districts by respective district chapters of the association.
The programme in Dimapur was graced by district fishery officer Dimapur, Imtisunep as special guest, district fishery officer, Mokokchung T. Tatong Longchar as special guest in Mokokchung and DFO Wokha, Ralanthung Ezung as special invitee in Wokha,
Meanwhile, in Tuensang, ADC Tuensang Thungchanbemo attended the programme as special guest and DFO Tuensang Mhomo Murry as special invitee.
