ABAM organises prayer programme

Ao Baptist Arogo Mungdang (ABAM) organised a prayer programme for ordained ministers of the Ao community at Impur on July 11 and 12.
In a press release, ABAM executive secretary Rev. Dr. Mar Pongener informed that during the programme, ABAM church & mission secretary, Rev. L. Yapang Mollier asked the gathering to entreat for forgiveness and to seek blessings for Nagas.
With the forthcoming ABAM sesquicentennial celebration, Rev. Yapang said it was important to retrospect on God’s calling and in this regard, the prayer programme for ordained ministers was organised.
In his exhortation, Rev. Dr. Mar Pongener said that they were similar to the 70 elders of Israel found in the book of Numbers 11, who were chosen to listen to God and share the burden with Moses, for the safety of the nation of Israel.
In this regard, he said the ordained ministers should always be the ones bearing good news, speaking about peace and above all, the ones who direct and lead the people to the heavenly kingdom.
Today, truth has become absolute for the harmony and safety of our society, so every ordained minister at any cost should humbly speak the truth if peace should fill our society, he stated.
At the programme, ABAM honoured 10 of the eldest ordained ministers present in the programme.
Altogether, 110 ordained ministers from 63 local churches attended the programme.
