Activities of LLINs fortnight concludes in Peren

DIMAPUR: National Center for Vector Borne Diseases Control (NCVBDC) under the office of the chief medical officer (CMO) Peren organised the first phase of activities on Long-lasting Insecticidal nets (LLINs) fortnight in Peren district on February 14 and culminated on February 28 under the supervision of district vector borne disease officer, Dr. Hedungkiebe and district consultant Vimekhrie-ii Metsieo.
A press release from district media officer, Shekho Sophie informed that Dr. Hedungkiebe said LLINs which were distributed and covered the whole district on 2021 played a key important role in curbing malaria.
In this regard, the district VBDO informed maximum usage should be encouraged which were being done through fortnight activities.
The fortnight activities included house to house visits conducted by block malaria technical supervisors, surveillance workers of district NCVBDC Cell and ASHAs of the district, fever screening, LLINs usage survey and awareness about proper usage of LLINs, importance of early diagnosis and treatment of malaria were also imparted.
District consultant, Vimekhrie-ii Metsieo also informed that while the fortnight activities were conducted throughout the district, special emphasis was given to selected strategic villages in all the four blocks of Peren.
