Angami Catholic Unionconvention enters day 2

The 12th triennial convention of the Angami Catholic Union (ACU) entered second day as thousands gathered at Christ the King Church, here on Saturday.
The speaker for the afternoon session, ACU advisor, R Rocus Chasie spoke on the topic “History of the Catholic Church”.
The topic was segmented in two major point—differences between Catholics & Orthodox Christians and Eastern Catholic Christians.
He gave detailed insight into the tumultuous history of the Catholic church and hopes for a reconciliation between the major sects.
Later in the evening session, Angami Catholic Union ecclesiastical & Parish Priest, Rev Dr Fr Solomon Visosieo Vizo spoke on the topic “Eucharist the Source and Summit of Christian Life”.
He said all blessings came through the Eucharist which begins from the day of baptism in the life of a Catholic.
If we are to live the life God intends us to live then we have to follow the sacraments taught to us by Jesus, he stated.
As Catholics, we need to fully understand the real meaning of the Eucharist according to the way it was intended for us, Fr Solomon said.
Choirs from Angami Catholic Youth Association and Chakhro Angami Catholic Union presented special numbers during the services.
The afternoon service was led by Northern Angami Catholic Union (NACU) president, Viyie Peter while the evening session was led by Kohima Town Region ACU president, Meyacalie Marcus.
The three-day triennial conference would culminate with a Eucharist, with Most Rev. Dr. James Thoppil, bishop of Kohima Diocese as main celebrant, 9:30 a.m. on Sunday.
