BAN expresses concernover land occupied by CRPF

Business Association of Nagas (BAN) has alleged that the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has been occupying a good portion of the Industrial Estate and some industrial sheds for many years. BAN stated that the CRPF’s stay at the Industrial Estate was supposed to be temporary but the CRPF has extended their stay.
On Saturday, the commissioner & secretary for industries and commerce Kekhrievor Kevichusa, DC Dimapur Sachin Jaiswal, managing director of Nagaland Industrial Development Corporation (NIDC) Zuvito Waths, president of the Business Association of Nagas (BAN) Mongkum Jamir, department officials, and BAN members inspected the Industrial Estate, at Firing range Dimapur.
BAN stated that the continued occupation of the Industrial estate by the CRPF is a loss for Naga entrepreneurs who could have availed the industrial sheds at reasonable cost, adding that a good number of employments can also be generated if industrial activity takes place.
BAN informed that officials inspected the area and also met the CRPF Assistant Commandant-in-charge. BAN expressed the need for the occupied area to be vacated at the earliest, adding that the department of Industries and Commerce has assured to take appropriate steps in this regard.
