Block level training for SMC, SMDC in Kohima

KOHIMA: Samagra Shiksha Nagaland conducted a block level training for members of School Management Committee (SMC) and School Management and Development Committee (SMDC) under Educational Block Resource Centre (EBRC)L. Khel Kohima on March 9 at D. Khel badminton stadium, Kohima village.
In a press release, the department stated that joint secretary, department of School Education and deputy project director, Nagaland Education Project (NEP)-The Lighthouse, Avelu Ruho highlighted the background of NEP-The Lighthouse.
Ruho emphasised on community participation and collective responsibility of teachers and community leaders such as SMC and SMDC to improve education system and impart quality education to students. She appealed to the gathering to give their best in building quality education in their respective schools and villages.
Deputy mission director, state mission authority, Kelhikha Kenye also highlighted various schemes and initiatives of Samagra Shiksha and called for accurate school data maintenance on Unified District Information System for Education (UDISE). Stating that every school programme and planning process was now being done through UDISE, Kenye called upon SMC and SMDC to have correct data in order to avail various facilities for students and to ensure effective management of schools.
At the programme, other resource persons highlighted background of NIPUN-Bharat mission, vocational education (VE), inclusive education (IE), out of school children, school development plan, etc.
