Book on ‘Sangtam Naga & Christianity’ launched

A book titled “Sangtam Naga and Christianity” by Khumjong Sangtam was launched on September 17 at Tourist Lodge, Dimapur.
In a press release, Heritage Publishing House, editor Senitnaro Longkumer stated that the book was published by Heritage Publishing House and released by Rev. Dr. Hukashe A.Zhimomi, executive secretary, NPBCA. In his book review, Dr. Alem, Associate Professor of Discipleship Bible College stated that the author has interestingly discovered the origin of the “United Sangtam” nomenclature initiated by some pioneers in the late 1950s. In addition, the book testifies how God worked among the Sangtam people inhabiting two different parts of Sangtam lands: Longkhim division and Kiphire district and how people began to respond God’s work of Salvation. Khumjong Sangtam also stated in the author’s note that the book was “a book of undiscovered history” since it deals with the two different parts of Sangtam lands and the United Sangtam along with contemporary Christian response to various issues. The author is serving as associate pastor-cum-general secretary at Police Baptist Church, DEF Tuensang.
