Capacity building programme on health & well-being of youth held in Peren

Commemorating the 75th anniversary of Peren Township, a programme on capacity building on health and wellbeing of the youth, was held in Peren town hall with additional deputy commissioner (ADC) Peren, Keyirangding Hegui as special guest on Monday.
According to a DIPR report, ADC expressed gratitude to the department of Health & Family Welfare for providing a platform to encourage the young generation.
He encouraged the student community to avoid substance abuse and drugs and urged upon the gathering to focus on beneficial things rather than indulging in social media.
At the programme, resource person, Dr. Dietho Koza spoke on “Understanding Drug Addiction” and “A way out of Addiction” while link worker scheme was highlighted by district resource person, link worker scheme Peren, Namdahing.
Meanwhile, mental health awareness for youth was shared by clinical psychologist district mental programme Peren, Sopfunuo Vizo while ill effects of tobacco, initiative under NTEP programme and HIV awareness and availing facilities were highlighted by district nodal officer, National Tobacco Control Programme, Dr. Sabinuo Kuotsu, senior treatment supervisor, NTEP Peren, Kengimgaule and district ICTC supervisor Peren, Ngauzeulungbe.
The programme was chaired by programme assistant DAPCU Peren, Pauheugau while welcome note was delivered by MS District Hospital Peren, Dr. K. Limatula Ao.
