CATCs conducted in educational institutions

Combined Annual Training Camps (CATCs) for National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets of various schools and colleges were conducted in Dimapur where activities including drills, health awareness and weapon display among others were carried out.
PCC (Autonomous): The 1 Nagaland Air squadron NCC Dimapur under the aegis of NCC group Kohima organised CATC-37 at Patkai Christian College (Autonomous), Chümoukedima on July 15.
According to PRO (Defence) Kohima, group commander (GC), NCC group, Kohima, Brig Praveen Singh Sangwan in his opening address exhorted cadets to participate in the training activities.
The 10-day training course included activities such as—flying, aero-modeling, drill with and without arms, range firing, tent pitching, etc. and classes on aviation subjects, health & hygiene, service subjects, personality development, etc.
Lecture and demonstrations were also conducted by Nagaland Fire & Emergency Services (F&ES), Chümoukedima, medical officer from office of the CMO, Chümoukedima, RBO SBI (Dimapur), and CO 11 airmen selection center (ASC) (Borjhar, Guwahati).
Later, camp commandant Wg Cdr T. S. Singh, CO 1 Nagaland air sqn thanked principal, PCC, Dr. T. Pierii, Wg Cdr Shanmugan, CO 11 ASC (Borjhar), ARTC & S, CMO Chümoukedima, F&ES Chümoukedima and RBO SBI (Dimapur).
The CATC-37 was attended by two officers, 14 instructional staff, seven associated NCC officers and 348 cadets of 1 NL Air Sqn NCC and 1 NL Girls’ batallion.
The camp concluded with prize distribution by GC, NCC group HQ Kohima where cadet under officer, KP Esther Khumao of Eastern Christian College was declared Cadet of the Camp.
VBHSS: The 24 Nagaland (I) Coy NCC Kohima organised CATC-44 at Vidhya Bhawan Higher Secondary School, Dimapur.
In a press release, camp commandant, Col Daniel Lotzem informed that the NCC cadets witnessed weapon and band display organised by the 43 Assam Rifles (Samtal warrior) under the aegis of IGAR (North) on July 17.
On behalf of GC Kohima NCC group, CO Col Daniel Lotzem acknowledged CO 43 AR Col Sumit Sood and all ranks of 43 AR for conducting weapon and band display.
Around 320 NCC cadets from senior, junior division and junior wing of 24 Nagaland (I) Coy and senior wings of 1 Naga Girls Bn of Kohima NCC group participated in the weapon and band display.
The event was also attended by NCC officers, permanent instructors, civilian staff, VBHSS principal, V. K. Saha and school staff.
