CCLB holds annual session in Kohima

Chokri Chakhesang Literature Board (CCLB) conducted its annual session at Mt Sinai Higher Secondary School, here, on Tuesday.
At the programme, key speaker, Dr Chotisuh Sazo, MLA, said Chokri language was rich and differed from village to village and area to area.
He reminded the crowd that it was a symbol of their wealth and encouraged them to promote it.
Sazo also suggested that the board improvise words that were available and to preserve them instead of introducing new words.
This, he said, would help in promoting the language better.
The MLA advised the board to have seminars with stakeholders and approve new words before introducing it formally.
Meanwhile, Chokri Chakhesang Literature Board chairman, Ariyi Neinu said the main objective of the board was to bring out a translation of English Bible, hymnals, dictionary, books etc., into Chokri language for all the Chokri speaking areas of Chakhesang.
He also requested the public not to misunderstand or hinder development of languages. Chokri Chakhesang Literature Board Core Committee convenor, Zacilhü R Vadeo informed that today, many new words were added which called for further translation.
Association of Nagaland Literature Board chairman and Kuzha Chakhesang Literature Board, Dr Distolo and convenor, Advisory Board of Chokri Chakhesang Literature Board , Zhovehü Lohe also addressed the gathering.
A new team of office bearers for the 2022-2025 were also declared at the session, led by Ariyi Nienu as chairman, Vechisa Venuh as vice president, Vekhozo Ringa as general secretary (administration), Medongoyi Rhakho as general secretary (technical) along with six other members.
Earlier at the programme, Chakhesang Culture Research Institute presented a folk song.
